For many, it doesn’t matter what the calendar says; fall in New York officially begins once Starbucks starts offering its popular Pumpkin Spice Latte. And we get it. We also love a good spiced coffee beverage; but as we’re always aiming to take you beyond the guidebook and promote small businesses, we want to introduce you to some pumpkin experiences beyond the obvious.

Meet us below in the West Village — along with our collaborators for this video, the stylish sisters of the awesome NYCxClothes YouTube channel and Instagram account — where we’ll swap the typical fall java drink for three truly unique pumpkin experiences. Watch the video to truly come along with us on the tour, though just to re-cap:

*Craving something hearty? OatMeals does just what it says, makes a meal out of oats — 100% natural, whole grain steel-cut oats, to be exact. Featuring everything from Croque Monsieur to an Italian inspired Truffle RisOATto, they also have a number of options featuring pumpkin to celebrate fall in New York. Our picks: a Pumpkin Pie featuring pumpkin purée swirl, pecans, brown sugar, pumpkin spice and whole milk that truly tasted like autumn, and a more savory Bacon Pumpkin showcasing pumpkin purée swirl, bacon, maple syrup and sea salt.

*Looking for a seasonal buzz? Sweet Revenge has been a favorite of ours for years, originally focused on pairing homemade cupcakes with thoughtfully curated beers and wines and now also pairing meals, as well. To celebrate fall in New York Chef Kenyetta goes pumpkin crazy, with decadent options like pumpkin spice cupcakes topped with cinnamon crease cheese frosting and toasted sugar pumpkin seeds, pumpkin crumble pie gowned in sugar butter streusel, pumpkin spice Belgian waffles and pumpkin scones — thoughtfully paired with Petalo Moscato Spumante (Italy), Kopparberg Pear Cider (Sweden) and pumpkin bellinis.

Tip: When doing your tasting take a bite then a sip, and enjoy both in your mouth at the same time. Your palate will be in heaven!

*Wanting a trip to Italy in NYC, albeit in an unusual fashion? Popbar focuses on small-batch, all-natural gelato on a stick. One you pick your flavor — we suggest Pumpkin Pie for fall — you can dip it in sauces like caramel dark chocolate and white chocolate, before rolling it in toppings like hazlenut, waffle cone bits, sprinkles and more!

Check out the video! Anything you’d add to this list of pumpkin experiences beyond the latte celebrating fall in New York?
